Josh Kerr broke Steve Creme’s 39-year-old nationwide document with a victory over Jakob Ingebrigtsen within the mile race on the Diamond League meet in Eugene.
The Scottish runner received the much-anticipated showdown with Norwegian rival Ingebrigtsen with a exceptional, world-leading run of three minutes 45.34 seconds.
