Season 33 of Dancing with the Stars ended with a bang on November 26. Five couples fought for the Mirrorball Trophy after eight weeks of fierce competition.
The finalists were Danny Amendola and Witney Carson, Joey Graziadei and Jenna Johnson, Chandler Kinney and Brandon Armstrong, Ilona Maher and Alan Bersten, and Stephen Nedoroscik and Rylee Arnold.
Danny and Witney placed fifth. Stephen and Rylee secured fourth place. Chandler and Brandon took third.
The final showdown came down to Joey and Jenna versus Ilona and Alan. In the end, Joey and Jenna were crowned the winners.
“This means everything,” Joey said. “Thank you for bearing with us. I gave it my all!”
A Night of Dazzling Performances
Each couple performed two dances—a Freestyle with extra dancers and a redemption dance. Joey and Jenna scored a perfect 30 for their Cha Cha redemption and a near-perfect 29/30 for their freestyle.
Danny and Witney chose a Tango. Stephen and Rylee performed a Quickstep. Chandler and Brandon and Ilona and Alan both tackled the Jive.
Joey and Jenna’s outstanding scores secured them the top spot on the leaderboard.
A Season Full of Surprises
All five couples reached the finale after an unexpected twist in the semifinals. Host Alfonso Ribeiro announced no eliminations, allowing everyone to compete in the last round.
The contestants expressed joy over making it to the finale. “It’s such a great group,” Chandler said. “None of us wanted anyone to go home.”
Ilona admitted she wasn’t sure they’d make it. “The competition was tough,” she said. “We just focused on improving week by week.”
Memorable Moments and Drama
The season had its fair share of drama and heartwarming moments. Two contestants formed romantic connections. Brooks Nader and Gleb Savchenko dated briefly after their elimination but later split. Bachelorette Jenn Tran and Sasha Farber grew close and now plan to move in together.
Even first-eliminated contestant Anna Delvey made a splash. She returned to the finale, poking fun at her earlier comments about learning “nothing” from the show.
The Champions Celebrate
Joey and Jenna performed to Justin Timberlake’s Can’t Stop the Feeling and wowed the judges. Despite some criticism during the night, their overall score of 59 sealed the win.
“This win is for Jenna,” Joey said, praising his pro partner.
It was a thrilling end to a spectacular season of Dancing with the Stars.
