Kevin Costner paid tribute to the late actor Dabney Colemanwho performed the daddy of his character Yellowstone.
Coleman, greatest identified for his roles in 9 to five, Tootsie, Boardwalk Empire and extra died Thursday afternoon, his daughter, Quincy Coleman, confirmed in a press release to ET. He was 92.
On Friday, Costner took to his Instagram story to share a tribute to his former co-star, who performed John Dutton Jr., the patriarch in Costner’s John Dutton III.
The actor shared screenshots of “one of the heartwarming scenes I have been part of,” referencing the season 2 episode Yellowstone by which his hero returns to the final days of his father.
“What an honor to work with Dabney Coleman,” Costner continued. – Might he relaxation in peace.
The emotional Season 2 finale, Sins of the Father, was Coleman’s final on-screen function, culminating in Costner’s character accepting Rip (Cole Hauser) as a son and coping with his personal feelings over his father’s loss of life.

Coleman’s agent, Jeffrey Goldberg, additionally wrote, “I will simply add that it was an amazing privilege to characterize Dabney and to have the ability to name him my pal. He will likely be significantly missed.”
