Heavy steel band Metallica’s official X account seems to have been hacked, and the exploiters used the hack to advertise the Solana token with the METAL ticker.
The token was first introduced on Metallica X’s official account in a submit on June 26, which claimed that the token — launched on Solana-based pump.enjoyable token deployment — was created in partnership with Ticketmaster.
Ticketmaster made no public announcement concerning the partnership and didn’t instantly reply to a request for remark.
Messages from Metallica’s account claimed fintech agency MoonPay was concerned with the token, which MoonPay president Keith Grossman denied in a message to X, saying “MoonPay DOES NOT assist METAL.”
